
Brown Set for NCAA Championships

Jamir Brown will represent the Syracuse track and field team at the NCAA Championships this weekend in Arkansas.

60-METER HURDLES PREVIEW
Brown enters the meet tied for the 14th-fastest time in the country this season, which he set at the ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships last week. Brown turned in a time of 7.56 seconds to be the meet's runner-up.
Samford's Bradley Franklin (7.41 seconds) has the nation's best time this season by four hundredths of a second over the rest of the field. Texas Tech's Malachi Snow is second at 7.45 seconds. Every other qualifier is within a tenth of a second of Brown for their season-best time.
The meet will feature two semifinals, beginning at 7:55 p.m. eastern on Friday. The top two finishers in each heat, plus the next-four fastest times advancing to Saturday's final, which will run at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
MEET HISTORY
Syracuse has had an NCAA finalist in the 60-meter hurdles at two of the last-three national meets, with Jaheem Hayles reaching the 2023 and 2024 national final. Miler Benne Anderson qualified for the national championship meet last season, marking four-straight NCAA Championships now that the Orange has reached the final meet.
The hurdles continue to be a strong event for 'Cuse under Dave Hegland's guidance. Hayles (2023, 2024), Freddie Crittenden (2017, 2016), Donald Pollitt (2014) and Jarret Eaton (2012 – National Champion) have all qualified for the NCAA Championships in the past-15 years in the men's 60-meter hurdles.
