From the Start
- For the first time this season, it's back-to-back home games for the Orange as ACC play rolls on. A Friday afternoon matinee pits No. 11 Syracuse against No. 16 Louisville in conference action before Senior Day on Sunday against No. 7 Harvard (1 p.m.).
- The Orange come home for five of their next six games after spending the first month and a half basically on the road. Friday's tilt will be just the second game at J.S. Coyne Stadium this season for the Orange.
- Syracuse is coming off a tight 2-0 loss at No. 3 Duke last weekend, a game that was scoreless through the first 35 minutes before the Blue Devils broke through the vaunted Syracuse defensive penalty corner unit twice, once in the third and once in the fourth.
- Sunday afternoon will serve as senior day for this year as the Orange honor five student-athletes: graduate student Grace Anne McCooey, and seniors Jessie Eiselin, Hattie Madden, Bo Madden, and Grace O'Connor.
- It's a tale of two series this weekend; Syracuse and Louisville will meet for the 26th time dating back to 1993 with many BIG EAST and ACC clashes in between. But the Orange and Crimson will play for just the fourth time and only the second time in the regular season. Sunday's game will be the first meeting between the schools in the regular season at J.S. Coyne Stadium.
- It's been goals by committee into the middle of this year. Eleven different players have scored, including a pair with five goals (Hattie Madden, Aubrey Turner). Jovie Weaver, Hattie Madden, Grace Anne McCooey and Sammie Goin each have a game-winning goal to their credit.
- Farquhar is in the middle of her fourth season at the helm of the program, looking to add to her 43 wins in her time at Syracuse. The Orange reached the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals for a second time in those first three years last year, knocking out Liberty in strokes.
With a Win Friday Syracuse Would...
- Improve to 2-0 at home this season.
- Bump Syracuse's home record in October to 6-4 under head coach Lynn Farquhar, including 6-2 in the last three seasons.
- Level Syracuse's conference record back to 2-2 on the season.
- Be the fourth win in a row at home against the Cardinals dating back to the 2020 season.Â
- See the 'Cuse win its fourth game in the last five outings against Louisville.
- Improve to 9-2 all-time at home against the Cardinals.
- Be the 44th win in Lynn Farquhar's head coaching career at Syracuse and her 151st overall win as a head coach, including 107 at Saint Joseph's.
Senior Send Off
