Buchanan Scores Historic Hat Trick with Villareal

Syracuse alum Tajon Buchanan '15, made history on Sunday by scoring a hat trick in a Villareal match.

The forward becomes only the second Canadian player to tally a hat trick this century in one of Europe's top five leagues. Johnathon David (LOSC Lillie) is the only other Canadian to achieve this milestone.
Buchanan struck his first goal in the 16th minute in the top right center of the net. His second goal came just 12 minutes later off an assist on a low range tap in. Buchanan capped off his night, netting the ball up in the top pocket of the net in the 64th minute of play.

Buchanan recently joined Villareal on a permanent deal in July, though he has played with the team on a loan in February.
