
NCAA Regatta Begins Friday with Heats

The 2025 NCAA Championship Regatta is set to begin Friday at Mercer County Park in West Windsor, N.J., with preliminary heats. The Syracuse Orange earned an at-large bid for the fourth time in the last five years after earning a third place finish at the ACC Championship two weeks ago.Â
The Orange Varsity Eight gets things started when 'Cuse lines up in Heat 1 with Brown, Stanford, Michigan and Harvard at 9:48 a.m. The Second Varsity Eight (2V8) is in Lane 2 of Heat 4 and will race Boston University, Texas, Yale, Dartmouth and Rhode Island at 11:12 a.m. The Varsity Four will conclude the prelims at 11:48 a.m. when the Orange race Boston University, California, Rutgers, UCF and Fairfield.Â

Syracuse makes its 13th appearance in NCAA Regatta history and eighth as a team at-large qualifier. Syracuse's Varsity 8 has been 8th in each of the last two NCAA Championships and is hunting its first grand final since 2001, when the Orange qualified its top boat as an at-large. Syracuse finished 13th as a team at the 2024 NCAA Championship.Â
