Doust Named to IRCA Athlete Watchlist

Senior Lachlan Doust is one of 35 Division I rowers named to the 2025 IRCA Athlete Watchlist, announced Wednesday afternoon. Doust, a native of Willoughby, Australia, has been a staple in the Orange varsity eight for the past three seasons.

In total, 118 athletes from Division I, II and III, and lightweight rowing were nominated by their coaches and 61 were selected to this year's list. The criteria for being selected to the IRCA Athlete Watchlist is based on a combination of character, performance, achievements, leadership and day-to-day team contributions.

Doust has raced in the Grand Final at the IRA Regatta three times during his Syracuse career and was a member of Syracuse's Championship 8+ that won the College Championship at the Head of the Charles in 2023 and was a member of the varsity eight that won the first medal in 40 years when they placed third at Eastern Sprints.

He has also represented his homeland Australia at the 2023 U23 World Championships as a member of the men's eight.

Serving as team captain for the second-straight season, Doust and his varsity eight teammates rank No. 7 in the IRCA/IRA Preseason Coaches Poll to begin the 2025 season.
