SYRACUSE, New York -- No. 11/10 Syracuse will face its second top-10 opponent in a span of four days when it hosts No. 10/8 Johns Hopkins on Monday, March 10. Opening draw in the JMA Wireless Dome is set for 4 p.m.

ORANGE UPDATE
Syracuse (4-3) is coming off a double overtime thriller against No. 7/6 Stanford. Freshman Mileena Cotter scored with five seconds on the shot clock to give 'Cuse a 9-8 victory and its first ACC win of the season.

Junior defender Coco Vandiver posted six caused turnovers against the Cardinal. It marked the second time this season she has caused six turnovers in a game. Heading into the weekend, Vandiver ranked 10th in the nation in caused turnovers per game.

SCOUTING THE BLUE JAYS
Johns Hopkins defeated Stony Brook in its last contest to extend its winning streak to three and improve its record to 4-2. It was the Blue Jays' fourth game this season decided by one goal.

Ashley Macklin leads Johns Hopkins in every offensive category. She has 35 points on 24 goals and 11 assists in five games this season. Laurel Gonzalez has 57 draw controls this season. She ranks eighth nationally, averaging 9.5 per game.

Morgan Giardina has started all six games in goal for the Blue Jays. She has a 12.17 goals-against average and a .324 save percentage.

Monday's game is just the second all-time meeting between Syracuse and Johns Hopkins and the first during the regular season.

The Orange won the only previous meeting played at the SU Soccer Stadium in the second round of the 2023 NCAA Tournament. With the score tied at 2-2, Emma Tyrrell netted three-straight goals as part of a 5-0 'Cuse scoring run. She capped the offensive outburst that gave the Orange a 7-2 lead.

Syracuse led, 12-6, at halftime, and outscored the Blue Jays, 13-2, in the second half for a 25-8 victory. Emma Tyrrell scored a game-high seven goals, while Meaghan Tyrrell recorded a game-high nine points on six goals and three assists.
