Varsity 8 Debuts at No. 7 in IRCA/IRA Preseason Poll

Fresh off its fourth-straight grand final appearance at the Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) Championship Regatta, the Orange Varsity Eight has been tabbed as preseason No. 7 in the IRCA/IRA Coaches Preseason Poll, announced Wednesday.Â
The Orange are one of three programs to send its varsity eight to the grand final in each of the last four national championships and are joined by preseason favorite Washington and No. 2 California. Harvard, Princeton and Yale round out the top-5 of the preseason poll while Dartmouth was picked sixth, with two more points than the Orange.Â
Syracuse is two weeks away from the start of its season at Redwood Shores in California where 'Cuse will line up with California Rowing Club, #11 Stanford and #9 Brown.Â
