
Orange Open Weekend at Harvard Crimson Elite

The Syracuse track and field teams opened the weekend at the Harvard Crimson Elite, setting multiple personal bests in the process.
Two members of the Orange set new PRs in the men's 60-meter hurdles. Emanuel Joseph set a new personal best time of 7.82 seconds in the first round. He went on to finish third in the finals with a time of 7.87 seconds. Orange alum Jaheem Hayles, who was competing unattached, won the event in 7.76 seconds. Isaiah Lewis was the other runner to set a new career mark, crossing the line in 7.95 seconds, which was good for fifth. David Peters (8.15 seconds), was 10th.
Taleea Buxton was the runner-up in the 60-meter hurdles, finishing with a time of 8.47 seconds, 0.04 seconds behind South Florida's Doris Quainoo, who won the event.
Kitana Burgard took third in the 60-meter dash, posting a time of 7.49 seconds, while James Nmah turned in a time of 7.08 seconds in the men's event.
Xayvion Perkins (50.80 seconds) took 17th in the 400-meter dash.
Members of the Orange continue the weekend on Saturday at Utica's Blue and Orange Invitational.
