
3 New PRs Highlight Utica Invite

The Syracuse track and field teams competed in their second meet of the weekend, traveling down the Thruway to the Utica Blue and Orange Invitational. 'Cuse posted a trio of new PRs, set a facility record and came away with an event win on the afternoon.
Marissa Saunders set a new facility record and won the 60-meter hurdles by 0.23 seconds. She posted a time of 8.92 seconds to win the final. Her prelim time of 8.90 seconds was a new career best. Madison Ceasar also qualified for the finals, with a prelim time of 8.91 seconds. Kirstyn Schechter finished ninth, narrowly missing qualifying for the finals by one spot.
Isaiah Hayes was runner-up in the men's 60-meter hurdles, with a time of 8.22 seconds, a new personal best for the Orange freshman.
Olivia Garner also took second in the 60-meter dash, finishing in 7.73 seconds. She'd also be the runner up later in the meet in the 200, with a time of 25.87 seconds.
Caroline Kirby was second in the mile (5:08.29), leading the Orange to take three of the top-six spots in the event. Lauren Augustyn (5:11.50) was fourth, followed by Leah Futey (5:13.43) in sixth. Lizzie Bigelow also turned in a top-10 finish, taking ninth in 5:18.13. Lucy Zombek (5:45.98) and Kayla Harding (6:09.18) also competed, with Harding breaking her previous personal best.
Mia Hernandez placed 14th in the 400, finishing in 1:04.41.
In the 800, Blake Parker led the way with a time of 2:28.04, followed by Emily Rutkowski (2:32.30) and Maya Dubrovsky (2:38.94).
'Cuse is back in action next weekend, starting with the Boston University Valentine Invitational.
