THE GAME
- Syracuse returns home to the JMA Wireless Dome for another Saturday tilt, playing against its third-straight top-20 opponent in the Harvard Crimson, ranked 15th in both polls this week.
- The Orange are coming off a tough 11-7 road loss at then-No. 6 Maryland on Saturday while the Crimson are coming to Central New York after falling 19-15 at home against Colgate on Tuesday.
- Already 3-0 at home in the Dome this season, Syracuse has won its last seven home games dating back to the 2024 season, tied for the longest home winning streak in Division I entering the weekend.
- Syracuse and the Crimson have not met in almost two decades as the pair square off for the first time since the 2006 NCAA Tournament First Round, also in the Dome. A deep connection between the games is Brett Bucktooth, who popped off for seven points (5g, 2a) in the 11-4 win. His son, Brett Bucktooth Jr., is currently a freshman for the 'Cuse.
- Saturday's game is slated for a 1 p.m. opening faceoff on ACC Network Extra. Adam Gotkin (play-by-play), All-American Stephen Rehfuss '21 (analyst), and Sean Dorcellus '21 (sideline) will have the call for the top-15 matchup.
- Jack Gordon '23 (play-by-play) and Kyle Fetterly '09 (analyst) take to the airwaves on Syracuse Sports Network and TK99/105 locally, Cuse.com, The Varsity App, and TuneIn App, as well as Syracuse University student-radio station WAER.
THE HARVARD SERIES
- One of the oldest series in program history, but sporadically contested, Syracuse and Harvard meet for the 19th time since the 1919 campaign.
- The two teams have not met since the  2006 season when the Orange dispatched the Crimson 11-4 at the Dome to wrap up the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Brett Bucktooth scored five times, including a natural hat trick in the first five minutes, to lead the Orange.
- Prior to that game assigned by the NCAA, Syracuse and Harvard had not met since 1984 and 1985 as part of a home-and-home series, first in Syracuse then in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
- The series started off since 13 straight seasons of games, ranging from 1919 until 1931 before a 22-year hiatus.
- Syracuse is 18-0 all-time against Harvard, including shutouts in 1921, 1922, 1924, and 1926.Â
- Syracuse is 6-0 all-time at home against Harvard, but only two of those games have been played in the Dome, the aforementioned 2006 NCAA Tournament game, and a 23-3 win during the 1984 campaign.
A WIN ON SATURDAY WOULD...
- Improve Syracuse to 4-0 at home this season
- Extend the Orange winning streak over Harvard to 19.
- Be the eighth-straight win at home for Syracuse dating back to last season.
- Be the 952nd win in program history, second-most among Division I programs.
- Be the eighth top-15 win for Syracuse under head coach Gary Gait (Since 2022).Â
- Mark a second-straight top-20 win at home for the Orange, paired with an 18-7 win over then-No. 17 Towson back on Feb. 10.
- Finalize the Orange at 4-1 for the month of February, a second-straight season with four wins in the opening month. Syracuse has never won four games in back-to-back Februarys in program history.
ORANGE IN BOUNCE-BACK GAMES
- Â After falling in the ACC Tournament Semifinals, Syracuse bounced back in the NCAA Tournament, picking up a resounding 20-15 win over No. 12 Towson to avoid back-to-back losses.Â
- The win improved the Orange to 76-35 in games following a loss during a season (this record does not include the season opener following season-ending losses) in their last 111 tries.
- Since the team won its first NCAA Championship in 1983, 'Cuse has only had 18 "losing streaks" (two or more consecutive losses) in 40 seasons.
