Syracuse begins its third season under head coach Adrian Autry on Monday, November 3, when the Orange host Binghamton at the JMA Wireless Dome. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m., with the game streaming on ACC Network Extra.
The matchup marks the first regular-season action for both programs. The Orange completed their exhibition slate with victories over Buffalo (76-66) and Pace (75-57), showcasing the new additions to the roster.
AUTRY'S THIRD SEASON
Autry enters his third year leading his alma mater with a roster constructed around senior guard J.J. Starling and sophomore forward Donnie Freeman..
Starling led Syracuse with 17.8 points per game last season while adding 3.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists. He earned 2025-26 ACC Preseason Second Team recognition.
Freeman averaged 13.4 points and 7.9 rebounds per game before a right foot injury ended his freshman season in early January. The 6-foot-9 forward posted six double-doubles and shot 50.4 percent from the field. In the exhibition against Pace, Freeman led Syracuse with 22 points on 9-of-16 shooting, adding nine rebounds.
SIGNIFICANT ROSTER ADDITIONS
Syracuse added six transfers to address roster needs. Cincinnati transfer Tyler Betsey led the Orange with 14 points in the Buffalo exhibition, shooting 3-for-3 from beyond the arc. Georgia Tech transfer Naithan George flashed his ability to distribute the ball during the exhibitions, notching 10 assists over the two games. George also led the ACC in assists a year ago, averaging 6.5 per game. UCLA center William Kyle III posted a near double-double with 10 points and nine boards against Buffalo and added 10 points against Pace.
The freshman class features top recruits Kiyan Anthony and Sadiq White Jr. The duo has lived up to the billing so far with Anthony scoring 10 points in his debut against Buffalo while White Jr. recorded 14 points on 6-of-8 shooting against Pace. Center Tiefing Diawara, combo guard Luke Fennell from Australia, and guard Aaron Womack complete the freshman group.
EXHIBITION RESULTS
Syracuse shot 40.9 percent from three-point range against Buffalo to earn a win in the exhibition tilt at the KeyBank Center. Against Pace, the Orange closed on a 25-8 run over the final 10 minutes and shot 60.7 percent in the second half, including a 20-1 run over a seven-minute stretch. The Orange generated 44 points in the paint and forced 23 turnovers against the Setters.
SCOUTING BINGHAMTON
Binghamton enters its fifth season under head coach Levell Sanders, who has guided the Bearcats to improved win totals in three straight campaigns. The Bearcats finished 15-17 overall and 7-9 in America East Conference play last season, ranking first in the league in rebound margin and third in points allowed.
Sanders retooled his roster with significant turnover after all five of Binghamton's top scorers departed. The Bearcats added nine new players, including six Division I transfers.
Junior point guard Jeremiah Quigley earned MAAC All-Rookie Team honors at Iona, where he averaged 10.8 points and 3.3 assists as a freshman before transferring to George Mason a year ago. Senior center Demetrius Lilley came from La Salle after averaging 7.7 points and 5.8 rebounds last season. America East coaches voted Lilley to their Preseason All-Conference Team.
Junior guard Bryson Wilson averaged 7.4 points and 3.9 rebounds per game last season at Buffalo, where he recorded back-to-back 20-point performances and a 15-point, 13-rebound double-double against Notre Dame.
The America East coaches slotted Binghamton fifth in their preseason poll.
SERIES HISTORY
