- Friday's matinee features a 3 p.m. start as Syracuse promotes Breast Cancer Awareness with the contest.
- The Orange are coming off a split road trip to California, taking down Stanford 2-1 Friday night but fell 1-0 on Sunday at Cal.
- Syracuse is looking for its sixth win at J.S. Coyne Stadium this season, which would be back-to-back seasons with six home wins.
- Carolina makes its first trip back to J.S. Coyne Stadium since 2023
- 'Cuse is also looking to halt a six-game winning streak for the Tar Heels in the series.
- The Orange remained in the top 10 in the week's NFHCA Division I Coaches Poll, the sixth-straight week Syracuse has been inside the top 10, the most top-10 weeks since five during the 2021 campaign.
With a Win Friday Syracuse Would...
- Improve to 6-2 at J.S. Coyne Stadium, the first time since 2021 and 2022 the Orange would win at least six games at home in a season.
- Snap a six-game skid against the Tar Heels, marking the first Syracuse win over UNC since a 5-0 shutout on Oct. 21, 2021. The Tar Heels have played just one regular season game at Coyne since then.
- Be the third ACC win of the year for Syracuse, marking back-to-back seasons with at least three wins in conference play.
- Secure a sixth top-20 win for Syracuse, logging back-to-back seasons with at least six ranked wins after going 6-7 overall last fall against top 20 teams.
- Improve head coach Lynn Farquhar to 6-5 as an assistant or head coach against second-ranked teams. It would be her first over a number two team since Sept. 27, 2019 and her first as the bench leader at Syracuse.
The Cardiac 'Cuse

- The Cardiac 'Cuse is coming off another set of one-goal games, taking a lead in the 37th minute at Stanford but falling 1-0 at California.
- On Sunday, the Orange orchestrated a rally, trailing 2-1 with five minutes to play before striking twice in the final 90 seconds for a 3-2 win over No. 20 Penn State.
