
Buxton Wins 60H to Highlight Dr. Sander Scorcher

Taleea Buxton set a new PR and collected her second event win in as many meets to headline the Orange's performance at the Dr. Sander Scorcher.
Buxton won the women's 60-meter hurdles in a career-best time of 8.42 seconds. Teammate Peyton Rollins placed fourth in 8.59 seconds. Madison Ceasar (8.85) and Marissa Saunders (8.91) were 15th and 19th, respectively. Saunders' time was a new career best mark.
Emanuel Joseph had a strong day for the men in the same event, taking second overall in 7.88 seconds, also a new personal best. He trailed only BYU's Ben Barton (7.82) in the final. Isaiah Lewis (8.07) was ninth, followed by David Peters (8.15) and Isaiah Hayes (8.70).
Shayla Ford also turned in an event win for the Orange, claiming the open section of the 400-meter dash. Ford PRed in the event for the second-straight week, turning in a new career best time of 58.78 seconds, 0.04 seconds ahead of the mark she set on Saturday at the Nittany Lion Challenge. Ceasar (1:00.17) was 11th in the event, a new PR for her as well.
In the 60-meter dash, Olivia Garner (7.73 seconds), narrowly missed the final, taking ninth overall. Marissa Saunders (8.16 seconds) also raced for the Orange.
'Cuse is back in action next week at a pair of meets. Some members of the squad will head to Clemson for the Bob Pollock Invite, while others will travel to Boston for the John Thomas Terrier Classic.
