
Orange Open Indoor Season

The Syracuse track and field teams opened their 2024-25 campaign at two different meets on Saturday.
The bulk of the competition was down the road at Cornell for the Greg Page Relays.
Trei Thorogood started his indoor campaign with a win in the 60-meter dash (6.76 seconds), where teammate Carlton Landingham (7.27) also raced.
Peyton Rollins was runner-up in the women's 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.72 seconds. She posted a prelim time 0.02 seconds faster. Teammate Madison Ceasar was fifth (8.90) and Marissa Saunders (8.98) placed eighth in the final. Ceasar (8.85) also turned in a better time earlier in the day. Olivia Etienvre (9.30) and Kirstyn Schechter (9.54) missed the final.
In the men's hurdles, the Orange trio of Isaiah Lewis (8.13 seconds), Emanuel Joseph (8.15 seconds) and Isaiah Hayes (8.47 seconds) took third, fourth and fifth, respectively. Joseph (7.89 seconds) had the fastest prelim time.
Olivia Garner turned in a fourth-place finish in the 60-meter dash, crossing the line in 7.69 seconds, tying her personal best. Rollins took 12th in the event (7.85 seconds).
Xayvion Perkins finished fourth in the 500-meters for the men. He turned in a time of 1:07.46. Lucy Zombek (1:36.90) and Madeline Lutz (1:41.88) ran in the 500-meters for the women.
Lizzie Bigelow placed fourth in the 1,000-meter run (3:07.82), while Maya Dubrovsky (3:19.98) took eighth and Blake Parker (3:22.82) and Kayla Harding (3:32.02) were 10th and 11th, respectively.
Shayla Ford (43.53) took fourth in the 300-meters (42.53), ahead of teammate Mia Hernandez (44.56).
Ryder Kriley (4:42.41) raced in the mile, crossing the line in 13th.
Alexander Segarra competed in the 1,000-meter run, posting a time of 2:48.46, which was good for 14th.
Fresh off the NCAA Cross Country Championships, Savannah Roark started her indoor season at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener in Boston. She turned in a 5k time of 15:53.96. Freshman Sarah Lawson (16:59.99) ran her first track meet with the Orange in the event and Bethany Steiner (17:09.88) competed as well.
For the men, Solomon Holden-Betts raced in the 3,000-meter run, posting a time of 8:17.26. Drew Zundell (8:29.16) also raced in the event.
Four members of the Orange raced in the 5,000-meters for the men. Ben Gabelman posted the fastest time at 13:57.88. Julian Franjieh won his section of the 5k, crossing the line in 14:02.91. He was followed by Sam Ricchutti (14:16.59) and Gabriel Planty (14:32.86).
