SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse University softball team has released its 2025 spring schedule, as announced by head coach Shannon Doepking on Friday. The upcoming slate features four season-opening tournaments, followed by eight ACC series and four non-conference midweek matchups.
The Orange begin their campaign with three tournaments down south, starting with the UNCW Tournament from Friday, Feb. 7 through Sunday, Feb. 9 at Boseman Field in Wilmington, N.C. The four-team field includes host UNCW, along with Le Moyne and Queens (N.C.).
'Cuse continues its time down south with back-to-back tournaments in the state of Georgia. The Orange will first take part in the Columbus, Ga. Tournament at South Commons Softball Complex.
Syracuse's time in Georgia will continue the following weekend, Feb. 21-23, with the 22nd Annual Georgia Classic. Along with host school Georgia, the event at Turner Softball Stadium will feature App State and Utah Valley.
After four tournaments to open the season, the Orange will begin their ACC slate on the west coast with a three-game series at Stanford from March 7-9. The team will then make its way to Duke the following weekend (March 14-16).
'Cuse will make its season debut at Skytop Softball Stadium the following Wednesday, March 19, hosting Niagara for a doubleheader. The midweek contest will be followed by the team's first ACC home series when Syracuse welcomes Clemson for a three-game set from March 21-23.
The Orange will then take a short trip for a midweek meeting with Le Moyne on Wednesday, March 26 for a doubleheader, before hosting their second-consecutive ACC series against North Carolina (March 28-30).
Syracuse will spend most of the month of April on the road, starting with a three-game set at Georgia Tech (Apr. 4-6), followed by a trip to Cornell three days later (Apr. 9). The Orange will then play their final ACC away series on Apr. 11-13 at Virginia, before their final nonconference doubleheader at Colgate on Apr. 16.
'Cuse will close its regular season slate with two-straight ACC home weekends, starting with Boston College on Apr. 25-27. The Orange will then welcome California from May 2-4 for their final series.
The 2025 ACC Tournament, which is being hosted by Boston College, is set for May 7-10 at Harrington Athletics Village in Brighton, Mass.
Syracuse is coming off a 28-23 season that included ranked series wins against Virginia Tech, who was ranked No. 15 at the time, and Florida State, who was No. 14 when the Orange took two of three from the Seminoles. 'Cuse's 2024 campaign ended when it fell, 1-0, to Boston College in the first game of the ACC Tournament.
