Orange Set for ACC XC Championships on Friday

Championship season starts on Friday for the Syracuse men's and women's cross country teams. The Orange will compete at the ACC Championships in Cary, North Carolina. It'll be broadcast on ACCN.

ORANGE ENTRIES:
The Syracuse men will send Connor Ackley, Benne Anderson, Alex Comerford, Assaf Harari, Sam Lawler, Kamari Miller, Ruben Rojas Betanzos and Ethan Wechsler to the line.
The women will race Selma Anderson, Baneet Bains, Heidi Demeo, Emma Eastman, Beatriz Fernandes, Jayden Harberts, Olivia Joly, Sarah Lawson, Rylie Lusk and Savannah Roark.
MEET PREVIEW:
One of the nation's most competitive conferences got even tougher this summer, with the addition of three new schools (Stanford, Cal and SMU). No league has more ranked squads in this week's USTFCCCA Poll heading into conference championship weekend.
On the men's side, six of the nation's top-16 programs are set to compete. No. 5 Stanford enters as the narrow favorite by national polling, but No. 7 Wake Forest, No. 10 Notre Dame, No. 12 Syracuse, No. 13 North Carolina and No. 16 Virginia are all right behind looking to contend on Friday.
The women's poll features eight ranked teams from the ACC, which leads all conferences. No. 5 Notre Dame and No. 10 NC State lead the way in the top-10, followed by No. 13 Florida State, No. 15 Stanford, No. 19 North Carolina, No. 21 Virginia, No. 23 Syracuse and No. 30 Boston College.
ACC HISTORY:
The Syracuse men's cross country team has finished first or second at this meet in 10 of their 11 seasons in the league, including six league titles (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019).
The women's team is coming off a fourth-place finish in the 2023 event, the program's top finish since 2021, where they also took fourth.
Individually, Savannah Roark and Sam Lawler are each seeking their third-straight All-ACC finish.
