ITHACA, N.Y. – No. 7 Syracuse travels down I-81 to Ithaca, N.Y., where it will face No. 25 Cornell on Tuesday at 7 p.m. (ESPN+). The match is the lone non-conference road tilt for the Orange in 2023.

'Cuse Update
Syracuse's unbeaten streak has reached 20 matches as it played to a 1-1 draw on Saturday at No. 20 Wake Forest in its ACC road opener.

Sophomore Nicholas Kaloukian scored 80 seconds into the game, ringing a shot from the top-right of the box onto the left post and in.

After having a goal waved off in the 23rd minute due to being offside, the Demon Deacon eventually netted the equalizer in the 75th minute on a penalty kick.

Wake Forest outshot the Orange, 16-5, and had more corners (8-3). Saturday was the first game in 2023 where 'Cuse did not hold the advantage in both categories.

The Streak
The Orange have been unbeaten in their last 20 matches dating back to the historic 2022 campaign, the longest active streak in the country.

Over the span, Syracuse has posted a 14-0-6 record, outscoring its opponents, 39-16. 'Cuse goalkeepers have recorded eight clean sheets and have allowed no more than two goals in a match just four times.

The last time 'Cuse lost a contest was on Oct. 4, 2022, against Cornell. The then-ranked No. 22 Big Red earned a 2-1 victory at the SU Soccer Stadium.

Scouting the Big Red
John Smith is in his seventh year leading the Cornell men's soccer program. The Big Red have split their first four matches in 2023, dropping their last contest, 2-1, at UMBC on Saturday.

Cornell has scored one or fewer goals in three of its matches and is paced by Alex Harris, who leads the team with three goals and seven points. Harris found the back of the net twice and recorded an assist in Cornell's 4-2 victory at Canisius on Sept. 9.

Series History
Tuesday's match will be the 76th all-time meeting between Syracuse and Cornell in a series that dates back to 1921. The Big Red hold a slim 36-31-8 advantage.

Last season, Cornell defeated the No. 7 Orange, 2-1, during the regular season before 'Cuse earned a 1-0 victory in the NCAA Championship Third Round on Nov. 27.

Giona Leibold's goal in the 84th minute helped send Syracuse to the Elite 8 for the first time since 2015.
