Syracuse has won its last eight in a row and took over the top spot in both national polls this week. The Friars are still searching for their first victory of the year. They come into the game with an overall record of 0-11 after losing to Brown, 14-7, on Tuesday.

The game will be televised live in the Syracuse area on Time Warner Cable Sports. Fans can also hear the action live on the radio home of the Orange - TK 99 (99.5 FM). Live streaming video and audio are available on SUathletics.com as part of Orange All-Access.
SENIOR DAY AT THE DOME
Twelve players will be honored prior to the Providence game in a short ceremony as part of Senior Day. Max Bartig, Al Cavalieri, Lincoln Cavalieri, Brandon Conlin, Joe Coulter, Chris Daniello, Nathan Farabee, Tyler Hlawati, Cody Jamieson, Gavin Jenkinson, Matt Tierney and Adam Vogl will be introduced individually before the start of the game.
FEELIN' AT HOME IN THE DOME
The Orange is 24-1 in the Carrier Dome since the start of the 2008 season. The Orange went 9-0 at home in 2008, 10-1 at home in 2009 and is 5-0 at the Dome so far in 2010. Syracuse's 10 home victories in 2009 equaled the school record set by the 1988 edition of the Orange. Overall, Syracuse is 182-24 (.883) all-time at the Dome.
The Orange has won 13 consecutive home games dating back to a Feb. 27, 2009 loss to Virginia. It's the second-longest current home winning streak in the nation. Princeton has the longest with 15 consecutive home wins.
ORANGE EARN SEVERAL WEEKLY HONORS
Senior Chris Daniello totaled nine points, including seven goals, in wins at Cornell and Rutgers last week to earn NIKE/Inside Lacrosse Player of the Week honors on April 20. He was also named to IL's ThunderBay Team of the Week, along with rookie close defenseman Brian Megill. Daniello also was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week on April 19. In addition, junior Joel White was tabbed the conference's defensive player of the week after he averaged 7.5 ground balls and 3.0 caused turnovers per game last week.
SCOUTING THE FRIARS
Providence has not won a game since April 15, 2009 when it defeated Marist, 9-7. Since then, the Friars have lost 15 in a row, including their first 11 games of this season. Their struggles have been mainly on offense. Providence is averaging slightly more than five goals per game in 2010 and hasn't scored double-digit goals since a March 21, 2009 win at Wagner (12-4). Sophomore midfielder Jake Nolan leads the team in points (14) and assists (12). Junior middie Mike Feldberg is Providence's top goal scorer with nine.
Defensively, senior Ryan Riedl leads Providence with 33 ground balls and 18 caused turnovers. The Friars have played four goalies this season and three different goaltenders have received starting nods in 2010. Sophomore Christian Dzwilewski has seen the majority of action recently. He leads the team with 52 saves and scored a goal in the Brown loss. Sophomore Tim Finnegan (5) and senior Frank Cicero (1) have also made starts in the cage this year. Cicero has the best goals-against average of the bunch, a 10.60 mark in approximately 238 minutes.
THE SYRACUSE-PROVIDENCE SERIES
The Orange and Friars have met just once previously with Syracuse winning 22-3 in the 2009 season opener. That game was also contested at the Carrier Dome.
