Getting to Know: Katlyn Haycock
How does your work ethic in the classroom translate to your preparation for the game of tennis?
"I was always taught that whatever I decided to do, I had to give 100% and do my best. School was no exception. It was expected that I do my best and that transformed into a strong work ethic that applies to everything in life. Tennis is something that means so much to me, so I work hard to perform my best and get better every day, just like in the classroom."
What do you remember about the first time you picked up a tennis racquet?
"I remember a natural feeling of excitement coming over me. I couldn't wait to swing it and see how hard I c ould hit the ball. I haven't put it down since."
Why did you choose Syracuse University?
"I chose Syracuse because of the tennis program. No other program in the country is like it or offers as much. Nothing compares to this tennis program. It was a perfect match and I knew the moment I read about the program that this is where I wanted to be."
