The Syracuse women's rowing team collected wins in multiple boat classes on Saturday at the Ivy Invite, highlighted by the Varsity Eight defeating Brown in the afternoon and the 3V8 beating Princeton, Harvard and Cornell in the morning session and Brown in the afternoon.
The Varsity Eight crossed the finish in 7:13.160 in its first race of the day finishing 4.160 seconds behind Princeton (7:09.000) and ahead of Harvard-Radcliffe (7:31.420) and Cornell (7:44.790). In the afternoon race, Syracuse (6:55.861) earned a 4.114 second win over Brown.
Syracuse's 2V8 took second to Princeton (7:26.299) by 7.032 seconds and had Harvard-Radcliffe beat by .654 seconds while Cornell crossed the finish in 8:17.507 in the morning session. The second race of the day for the 2V8 saw the Orange finish 9.144 seconds behind Brown who crossed the finish in 7:11.613.
The Varsity 4 was third in its morning race finishing in 8:24.55 ahead of Cornell (9:04.958) and behind winner Princeton (8:12.542) and Harvard-Radcliffe (8:18.092). Brown (7:47.311) earned a 9.998 second margin over Syracuse in the afternoon.
The 3V8 went 4-0 on the day beating Princeton (+18.526), Cornell (+32.246) and Harvard-Radcliffe (+46.096) with a time of 7:50.246. In the afternoon, Syracuse beat Brown with a time of 7:19.525, 19.684 seconds ahead of the Bears.
In the 2V4 race, Syracuse was second in 8:32.611, 10.558 seconds behind Princeton (8:22.053) and ahead of Harvard (8:45.895) and Cornell (8:57.377). In the afternoon, Brown defeated Syracuse by a slim 1.750 margin finishing in 7:59.282 while Syracuse crossed in 8:01.032.
The 3V4 was second in its only race of the day, crossing the 2k finish in 9:07.670 behind Princeton (8:38.806) and ahead of Cornell (9:17.414) and Harvard-Radcliffe (9:56:660).
The Orange will have a week rest before heading to Ann Arbor, Michigan, to face Michigan and Ohio State on April 25.
