
#10 'Cuse Cruises at Wolverine Double Dual

The No. 10 ranked Syracuse women's rowing program traveled to Ann Arbor, Michigan to compete in the Wolverine Double Dual on Saturday evening. The Orange raced head-to-head with No. 16 Ohio State in the morning session and swept the Buckeyes before racing No. 17 Michigan in the afternoon and winning three of the five races.

The Varsity 8 got the racing started with a final time of 6:19.1 to win with a three-second cushion over Ohio State. The 2V8 was dominant, finishing with a time of 6:27.2, ahead of the Buckeyes' 6:39.8. The V4 kept it rolling with a time of 7:09.5 ahead of Ohio State's 7:13.9. The 2V4 posted another dominant finishing time of 7:17.6, nearly 10 seconds ahead of Ohio State. The 3V8 completed the morning sweep, with a time of 6:41.1, seven seconds ahead of the Buckeyes.

Syracuse kept pushing in the afternoon session against the Wolverines with the V8 earning a win with a time of 6:19.4. The 2V8 won a tight race, besting the Wolverines with a time of 6:22.7, just over a second ahead of Michigan.

The V4 was bested by the Wolverines, as Michigan came in with a time of 7:16.1 ahead of Syracuse's 7:22.6. The 2V4 posted a time of 7:22.3, less than a second behind the Wolverines.

The 3V8 rounded out the day with a thrilling, razor-thin, victory, racing to a 6:46.6 finish – just .3 seconds ahead of Michigan.

The Orange's next race will be in Raleigh, North Carolina for the ACC Championships. Racing will take place at Lake Wheeler on Friday, May 15 and Saturday, May 16.
