3/3/2026 4:31:00 PM | Women's Lacrosse
Junior defender Izzy Lahah was named the ACC Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday afternoon. Lahah logged a team-best seven ground balls, seven caused turnovers, one draw control and scored a goal in games against then-ranked No. 13 Loyola and Louisville. This is the first time in her career that Lahah has won the ACC's weekly honor.
Â
Lahah got her week started with three turnovers and three ground balls against the Greyhounds, helping the Orange earn their first win of the season. The Orange defense held the Greyhounds to just eight shots on goal and seven goals, both season-lows for Loyola.
Â
The Orange earned their first ACC win of the season against Louisville behind a dominant defensive performance in which Syracuse posted 19 caused turnovers. The mark set a new program record for caused turnovers in an ACC game and was the most in any game for Syracuse since 2019. Lahah was at the forefront of the effort, racking up a squad-best four caused turnovers and four ground balls. She got in on the offensive action as well, scoring the team's first goal.
Â
Lahah and the Orange keep their ACC slate rolling this week against California and Virginia Tech, both games at the JMA Wireless Dome.
