Syracuse hits the road for the third-straight game on Saturday, traveling to Charlottesville for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff on ACCN.
1. Third Time, Long Time
Despite being conference opponents for now 14 seasons, this just the third meeting between Syracuse and Virginia as ACC foes. Aside from the ACC's three new additions in 2024, UVA is the Orange's least-frequently played opponent since joining the conference.
The trip to Scott Stadium will be Syracuse's first since 2015.
In total, the two teams have played six times, playing home-and-home series against each other twice prior to joining the conference. The two schools are tied 3-3 all-time and each school is 2-1 on the opponent's home field.
Syracuse won the 2022 matchup in the JMA Wireless Dome, while UVA claimed the 2015 meeting. Four of the prior six games have been decided by either three points in regulation or in overtime.
2. One-Score Wins
Syracuse won in overtime last time out against UConn. The victory moved head coach Fran Brown to 9-3 in one-score games and 4-0 in overtime games.
Under Brown's direction, Syracuse has the nation's seventh-most one-score wins since the start of the 2024 season. His winning percentage of .750 ranks eighth among all FBS programs in that time span and sixth among schools that have played 10-or-more one-score contests.
3. Returning Dome
Saturday's game concludes a 35-day stretch away from home for the Syracuse football team, which includes three road games and its bye week.
The Orange will host Louisville on Oct. 17, in their second-straight primetime game, at 7:30 p.m. on ACC Network. Tickets are available at Cuse.com/FootballTickets.
4. Deja 2
Umari Hatcher found the back of the end zone three times against UConn. He now has five receiving touchdowns through the first four games, a mark that ranks second in the ACC and 11th nationally.
His 7.25 catches per game also ranks 11th nationally and in the top-four of the ACC.
The ACC Receiver of the Week is averaging 108.5 receiving yards per game this season.
5. Down Hill
Running back Tylik Hill racked up 140 yards against UConn – with over 100 coming after halftime – and earned ACC Running Back of the Week.
Hill enters Saturday's game against Virginia ranked second in the ACC in yards per carry (6.24). The mark ranks 20th nationally.
