
Hut, Leibold Named 2025 Captains

SYRACUSE, N.Y.- Head Coach Ian McIntyre announced graduate students Tomas Hut and Giona Leibold as the 2025 Men's Soccer captains on Wednesday afternoon. Both players return as captains from the 2024 season.

Hut enters his third year at Syracuse after spending two seasons with Army. The goalkeeper started in all 17 matches last season, collecting 52 saves in 2024.

Leibold, a native of Wiesbaden, Germany, held a strong starting role in the 2022 National Championship campaign. The midfielder tallied 20 points across his collegiate career, including a season-high five goals in 2022.

The Orange are set to begin their season on Aug. 21 at 7 p.m. at SU Soccer Stadium against Connecticut.
