Omeze Selected to ACC Preseason Watch List

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Syracuse Sophomore Chimere Omeze was named to the ACC Preseason Watch List for the 2025 season the conference announced Wednesday afternoon.

The defender started in all 16 games he appeared in during the 2024 season. He tallied seven points, with three goals and one assist.

The conference also announced the 2025 Preseason Coaches Poll on Wednesday. Syracuse landed at No. 11 with 63 votes. Clemson took the top spot with 185 points, with four first-place votes. Reigning conference champion, Wake Forest, follows behind in second place with a total of 175 points, including five first-place votes.

'Cuse will begin conference play on Sept. 13, facing Stanford at home. The Orange will also take on ACC opponents Duke (9/19), California (9/27), Boston College (10/3), SMU (10/11), Pittsburgh (10/18), North Carolina (10/25) and NC State (10/31) this season.

Syracuse kicks off its regular season at home at SU Soccer Stadium on Thursday Aug. 21 against Connecticut at 7 p.m.
