Orange Complete Day Two at NCAA Championship

WEST WINDSOR, New Jersey -- Syracuse competed in the semifinals at the 2025 NCAA Rowing Championship on Saturday, May 31 at Lake Mercer. The 'Cuse second varsity eight and varsity four took part in the A/B semifinals, while the varsity eight competed in the C/D semifinals.
The second varsity eight finished sixth in its semifinal (6:38.244), which was won by Stanford with a time of 6:12.600. The Orange will face Michigan, Tennessee, Brown, California and Harvard in the B final at 10:36 a.m. on Sunday.
The third-seeded varsity four was edged out of a spot in Sunday's grand final by Tennessee. The Volunteers crossed the finish line with a time of 7:04.461, just ahead of the Orange's time of 7:04.799. Texas came from behind to win the semifinal (6:57.731), while Stanford was second (6:59.939). The Orange will race on Sunday against Michigan, Harvard, California, Brown and Princeton at 9:24 a.m.
The varsity eight had to wait until the evening to compete in the C/D semifinal due to inclement weather. The Orange finished second (6:18.073) behind Pennsylvania (6:17.229). Dartmouth was third (6:21.065) to join Syracuse and the Quakers in Sunday's upper level final at 9:12 a.m.
Syracuse is making its 12th NCAA Championship appearance and its fifth in a row, extending the program's best-ever streak. The Orange have now earned a spot in eight of the last nine NCAA Championships.
