
ACC Championships Begin Saturday

The Syracuse track and field teams will compete at the ACC Championships this weekend in Louisville.

ORANGE ENTRIES
Women's 5000-meter run final – 4:05 p.m. / 6 p.m. – Saturday
The women's 5,000-meter run will be split in two sections, with the first group going off at 4:05 on Thursday, and the faster-seeded heat beginning at 6 p.m.  Both members of the Orange are competing in the second heat, with Savannah Roark and  Emma Eastman entered.
Roark enters the meet with the sixth-best seed time this season (15:53.96). Stanford's Zofia Dudek enters as the pre-meet favorite with a season-best mark of 15:33.35.
Men's 5000-meter run final – 4:30 p.m. / 6:30 p.m. – Saturday
The men's races will feature the same format as the women. The first heat will feature five Syracuse runners: Connor Ackley, Assar Harari, Ben Gabelman, Julian Franjieh and Sam Ricchiuti.
Sam Lawler is the lone Syracuse runner in heat two of the event coming in ranked fifth  among runners in the field, with a season best time of 13:35.53. Just eight seconds separate the season-best times of Lawler and Notre Dame's Ethan Coleman, who owns the fastest seed time in the event.
Men's 200-meter prelims – 5:30 p.m. – Saturday
The 200-meter dash prelims will feature six heats, with the top-eight runners based on time advancing to finals Monday (finals at 2 p.m.).
Trei Thorogood is the long Syracuse running opening the event in heat four. Thorogood starts off the event tied for the fifth-best time in the field with a season-best time of 20.94. Virginia Tech's Judson Lincoln IV (20.70) has the best time this season in the field.
Women's mile prelims – 3:15 p.m. – Sunday
The women's event features four heats with the top two from each heat, plus next-two fastest times advancing to the finals Monday (Noon final). Syracuse has one runner competing in the event, true freshman Selma Anderson.
Anderson will race in the opening heat, where she'll go head-to-head with NC State's Grace Hartman, who holds the nation's second-fastest time this year.
Men's mile prelims – 3:45 p.m. – Sunday
The men's event follows the same format as the women's. Syracuse runners, Drew Zundell and Benne Anderson are both competing in the event. Zundell will compete in heat two with a season best time of 4:06.31. In heat four, Anderson is set to lead the event with a heat best time of 3:54.12, a school and European U-23 record he set earlier this season.
Only Boston College's Steven Jackson (3:52.71) has posted a faster time than Anderson this season among competitors. Finals for the men's mile will be at 12:10 p.m. on Monday
Women's 60-meter hurdles prelims – 4:35 p.m. – Sunday
The event has three heats with the top two of each heat and the next two best times advancing to the finals Monday (12:30 p.m. final). Peyton Rollins and Taleea Buxton are both competing for the Orange. Rollins is featured in heat one with a season-best time of 8.48 in the event. Buxton follows her in heat two with her season time of 8.42.
Clemson's Oneka Wilson has the fastest time in the nation this season and is the pre-meet favorite, based on time.
Men's 60-meter hurdles prelims – 5:10 p.m. – Sunday
The men's races will follow the same format as the women's hurdles. Syracuse has four men competing in the event Isaiah Lewis, Emanuel Joseph, Isaiah Hayes and David Peters. Syracuse's Jaheem Hayles won this event last season.
Lewis and Joseph start off the event in heat two with Joseph ranked second (7.82) and Lewis right behind in third (7.95). Hayes and Peters follow them later with both competing in heat three, where they'll face Tyson Williams of Florida State, who leads the ACC with a time of 7.60 from earlier this year.
Men's 400-meter dash prelims – 5:55 p.m. – Sunday
The 400-meter prelims will consists of seven heats with the top eight based on time advancing to the finals on Monday. Elijah Mallard will compete for 'Cuse in heat five. The finals will take place on Monday at 1:10 p.m.
Men's 60-meter dash prelims – 6:55 p.m. – Sunday
The 60-meter dash will have three heats, with each heat winner plus the next-two fastest times moving on. Thorogood is set to compete for SU, where he'll compete in heat three. His season-best mark of 6.70 seconds is third in his heat and tied for eighth overall in the field. Cal's David Foster ranks sixth nationally with a season-best mark of 6.54 seconds to lead all ACC competitors.
Women's 3000-meter run final – 2:20 p.m. – Monday
The 3000-meter run will feature two sections. Syracuse has three runners competing with Eastman and Anderson in section one, and Roark racing in the seeded section.
Stanford's Sophia Kennedy has the best mark this season in the field, ranking fifth nationally with a time of 8:42.53.
Men's 3,000-meter final – 2:55 p.m. – Monday
The event is formatted the same as the women's. Syracuse has five runners competing in the event. Harari, Ackley, Asher Danielson, Ruben Rojas Betanzos and Lawler. Harari, Ackley, Danielson and Betanzos all round out the first section and Lawler finishes the event in section two.
North Carolina's Ethan Strand has an ACC record and season best of (7:30.15) and competes in heat two. Harari is the Orange's best seed time, coming in at a season-best time of 7:58.69.
