THE GAME
- It's a westward trip this week for the Orange as Syracuse makes its debut in Salt Lake City in the second game of a home-and-home series with Utah. Saturday's game will be the program's first in the Beehive State.
- The Orange look to bounce back and snap a two-game slide against a pair of top 15 teams, most recently falling 15-14 against No. 15 Harvard at the Dome on Saturday.
- The Utes are battle tested, despite a 1-3 overall record. Utah topped No. 19 Ohio State 19-13 before dropping three straight against rv Delaware, No. 14 Denver, and a neutral-site showdown against Vermont. All three losses are by a combined four goals.
- The Orange meet Utah for a second-straight season, picking up an 18-7 win over the Utes last spring at the Dome.
- Saturday's game is slated for a 2 p.m. ET/Noon MT opening faceoff on ESPN+.
- Tim Leonard '21 (play-by-play) and Kyle Fetterly '09 (analyst) take to the airwaves on Syracuse Sports Network and ESPN Radio Syracuse (97.7) locally, Cuse.com, The Varsity App, and TuneIn App, as well as Syracuse University student-radio station WAER.

THE UTAH SERIES
- Saturday's western showdown will be just the second-ever meeting between Syracuse and Utah on the men's lacrosse field.
- The Orange hold a 1-0 series lead against the Utes, picking up an 18-7 win at the JMA Wireless Dome last spring.
- Opening the game with a 7-3 first quarter, Syracuse's defense shut the Utes out for the entirety of the second and third quarters before a 5-4 Syracuse advantage in the final frame.
- This weekend's contest will be the program's first-ever game in Utah against the Utes.
- Entering Saturday, the only Dome teams at Syracuse that have played the University of Utah are men's lacrosse and men's basketball. The later beat the Utes 74-57 during the 1951 National Campus Tournament but the game was held in Peoria, Illinois.
- Syracuse men's lacrosse will be the first of the five Dome teams to play at the University of Utah.

A WIN ON SATURDAY WOULD...
- Improve Syracuse to 1-1 on the road this spring.
- Boost Syracuse to 2-0 all-time against Utah.
- See the Orange win on the road for the first time since besting North Carolina 10-9 last spring at Dorrance Field
- Be the 952nd win in program history, second-most among Division I programs.
- Mark a second-straight season with a win to begin the month of March.

GO WEST YOUNG MAN
- Saturday's game will not be the first time the Orange head for the Rocky Mountains, but it will be the first in a while.
- Syracuse is 4-1 all-time against Denver, the lone blemish coming last spring in Towson, Maryland. The only meeting on the Pioneers home turf was a 13-10 win on March 10, 2002, the day after beating Air Force in Denver as well.
- Against the United States Air Force Academy, Syracuse is 2-0, with one meeting out west, a 20-8 win on March 9, 2002 in Denver.
- The Orange have not played west of the Mississippi River since the No. 5 Orange took on an 11th-ranked Georgetown team in Carson, California on March 12, 2005.
- Saturday's game will be just the fourth-ever Syracuse men's lacrosse game west of the Mississippi. The Orange are 2-1 all-time playing that far west.
