Visiting Miami (5-6-4, 1-4-3) scored two goals in the final 15 minutes to break a tie and defeat host Syracuse (6-9-2, 0-8-1), 3-1, on Thursday night.
Orange goalkeeper Shea Vanderbosch helped keep Syracuse in the match with five saves. Vanderbosch, who leads the ACC in saves and save average, moved into fourth on Syracuse's career save list. She has 284 in 48 contests.
HOW THE GAME WAS DECIDED
Miami's two tallies came less than three minutes apart, late in the second half. With the score even, 1-1, Gisselle Kozarski scored her first of the year at the 76:55 mark. Just 2:27 later, Hallie Salas pounced on a loose ball in the box and tallied her first of the season to put the Hurricane ahead, 3-1.

The visitors got on the board first. Giovana Canali won a struggle for the ball and quickly advanced before posting her ninth goal of the campaign. The score came 10:31 into the contest.

The Orange fought back in the second half. Anna Rupert led Ashley Rauch and Rauch drove the ball with her left foot into an open corner to tie things up. Rauch's tally was her fifth of the season.
