THE GAME
- Syracuse wraps up a three-game homestand before hitting the road for Spring Break next week.
- The Orange, who received votes in both major polls this week, host long-time rival No. 11/No. 10 Johns Hopkins on Saturday at 4 p.m. It's another doubleheader day as the No. 2 Syracuse women's lacrosse team welcomes Notre Dame at noon on Saturday.
- ACC Network Extra will carry the game live on Sunday with John Eads and former netminder Evan Molloy '17 on the call. It will be Molloy's first call on air for an Orange game.
- Tim Leonard '20 (PxP) and Kyle Fetterly '09 (analyst) will broadcast the action on TK99/105, Cuse.com, The Varsity App and the TuneIn App, while WAER will also carry the game.

THE JOHNS HOPKINS SERIES
- The two winningest teams in NCAA Division I history, and the only programs with at least 900 wins, meeting for the 61st time on Saturday. Johns Hopkins leads the all-time series by a narrow 31-28-1 count.
- Syracuse has won three of the last five meetings, but Hopkins out-last Syracuse 10-7 last spring in Baltimore.
- The teams have met at least once a season, every season since 1983, minus the 2021 campaign when Johns Hopkins played an exclusive B1G schedule.
- Syracuse holds an 11-9-1 record at home against the Blue Jays, though this is the first meeting in the Dome since a 14-10 Syracuse win on March 9, 2019.
- The Orange are 6-4 in the last 10 meetings, while also holding a 6-4 mark in the last 10 meetings in Syracuse.
- Syracuse and Johns Hopkins have clashed five times in the NCAA Division I Championship Game, with the Orange topping the Blue Jays in three of those title bouts (1983, 1989, 2008).
- There are a number of connections between the two programs on current rosters, headlined by longtime Blue Jays head coach and legendary player Dave Pietramala now on staff as the defensive coordinator at 'Cuse. John Cohen also spent the 2021 season with the Blue Jays.

THORPE NAMED US BOX HEAD MAN
- Former Syracuse men's lacrosse player Regy Thorpe has again been announced as the head coach for the USA Lacrosse men's box program.
- Thorpe, currently a women's lacrosse assistant coach at the University of Florida, will coach the men's box team at next year's championships, at a site and date to be announced.
- A former member of the USA Lacrosse box program, Thorpe led the US to a bronze medal finish in 2019 as the head coach, the fifth-straight bronze for the American side.
- Thorpe spent 15 years playing for the Rochester Knighthawks, winning the NLL title in 1997 and 2007.
- An All-American at Syracuse, Thorpe helped the Orange to the title game in 1992, and enjoyed a successful MLL career as well.

TO THE RAFTERS
- This spring, another Syracuse legend will have his jersey retired as Mike Powell's #22 jersey will join Gary Gait's high in the rafters of the Dome.
- The two legendary 22s are the first two men's lacrosse jerseys to hang in the Dome, while Katie Rowan's women's lacrosse jersey is with them as well.
- Powell was the first-ever two-time Tewaaraton Trophy winner, winning the honor in 2002 and 2004 after national championship seasons.
- A walking highlight reel, Powell was a four-time USILA First Team All-American, the Jack Turnbull Award winner for the attackman of the year, the 2004 Lt. Raymond Enners Award winner as the player of the year, and a two-time W.H. Brine Award winner as the NCAA Division I Championship Game Most Outstanding Player.
- The 2004 Syracuse graduate still holds the program's career points record (307), ranks sixth in career goals (150), and fourth on the career assists list (157). His 70 points as a freshman are the second-most for a first year player at Syracuse.
- Powell's jersey will reach the rafters at halftime of the March 11 game against Johns Hopkins.
