SYRACUSE, N.Y. – No. 22 Syracuse opens postseason play in the ACC First Round when it hosts NC State on Wednesday, Nov. 1, at 6 p.m. (ACC Network). The Orange are the sixth seed in the conference tournament while the Wolfpack hold the 11th seed.

Tickets for the ACC Championship First Round match on Wednesday, Nov. 1 will cost $10 for adults and $5 for senior citizens and youth ages 18 and under. Gates will open at 5 p.m. and tickets can be purchased here.

Students from any ACC member institution will be admitted free of charged with a valid school ID.

Graduate student Pablo Pedregosa will face his former team again this season. Pedregosa played in 66 matches, making 65 starts. The defender scored five goals and registered two assists with the Wolfpack.

On Sunday, Oct. 22, Pedregosa appeared in 56 minutes off the bench.

'Cuse Update
Syracuse concluded the 2023 regular season with a 1-1 draw at Boston College on Friday, Oct. 27. Senior Lorenzo Boselli scored his sixth goal of the campaign in the fifth minute. Senior Jeorgio Kocevski registered his tenth assist of the season on the score.

Kocevski became the fifth player in program history to record double digit assists in a season. The Liverpool, N.Y., native joins Marcello Vitale (1982) and Julian Buescher (2015) 11 assists, Jarett Park (2001) 14 assists and Steve Morris (1989) 16 assists.

Kocevski's 16 career assists are tied with Buescher (2014-15) and John Andrade (1998-01) for the tenth-most in program history.

ACC Tournament History
Syracuse is 7-4-5 in the ACC Tournament. The Orange are 5-0-0 when playing games at the SU Soccer Stadium. This will mark the first time Syracuse is the No. 6 seed in the tournament. 'Cuse has been the No. 2, 5, 7, 10 and 12 seeds. All time, the Orange are 7-1-3 when they are a top-seven seed and are 2-2-2 in the ACC First Round.

Wednesday will be the second time Syracuse will play NC State in the ACC Tournament, with both occurring in the first round. The No. 7 seed Orange beat the No. 10 seed Wolfpack, 2-0, on Nov. 4, 2015, en route to the team's first ACC Tournament title. Julian Buescher and Chris Nanco scored for Syracuse at the SU Soccer Stadium.

Scouting the Wolfpack
George Kiefer is in his seventh season leading the NC State men's soccer program and has an overall record of 49-51-23. The Wolfpack finished the regular season with a 6-8-3 overall record and a 1-5-2 record in ACC action. NC State closed out conference play with a 1-1 draw against Clemson on Friday, Oct. 27.

Luke Halle leads the team with seven goals this season. Will Buete and Hakim Karamoko both have four goals with Karamoko scoring in NC State's final two matches, including against the Orange on Oct. 22.

Samuel Terranova appeared in 270 minutes in goal during conference play, leading the trio of NC State keepers. Terranova posted a 1.33 goals-against average and a .840 save percentage.

Wednesday's contest will be the 14th all-time between Syracuse and NC State. The Orange lead the series, 5-3-5. This is the second time where 'Cuse and the Wolfpack will play twice in a season. The first occurrence took place during the 2015 season. Syracuse was the home team for both games in 2015 and 2023.

Earlier this year, Syracuse and NC State drew 1-1. This is the second straight season the team's played to a 1-1 draw with Syracuse's goal coming via an own goal. The two programs tied 1-1 on Oct. 22, 2022, in Raleigh, N.C.
