GAME INFO
-Â Syracuse looks to advance to its fourth-straight ACC Championship game with a win over North Carolina.
- The game will be broadcast on ESPNEWS with Anish Shroff , Paul Carcaterra and Quint Kessenich on the call. Brian Higgins and Kyle Fetterly will call the game on TK99/105 and Cuse.TV, with WAER also broadcasting the action.
THE NORTH CAROLINA SERIES
- The Orange and the Tar Heels meet Friday for the 24th time, with Syracuse controlling the all-time series, 16-7 and having won four straight.
-Â Just two weeks ago, the Orange defeated the Tar Heels 12-11 in overtime, marking Syracuse's eighth straight victory and seventh one-goal win of the season.
-Â After conceding a 4-2 lead at the end of the first quarter, the Orange trailed 11-7 early in the fourth. Behind two goals and an assist from Stephen Rehfuss, Syracuse scored the game's final five goals to win.
CARDIAC 'CUSE
-Â Prior to the six-goal victory against Hobart, Syracuse played in seven-straight one goal games, the longest streak in the 101-year history of the program.
-Â After defeating Hobart and Cornell each by multiple goals, Cardiac 'Cuse played in its eighth one-goal game of the season, a 12-11 overtime victory over North Carolina.
- 'Cuse has recorded four-or-more straight one-goal games in 2017, 2013, 2008, 2002 and 1919. Prior to this season, the last-three times Syracuse has recorded four-or-more one goal games, they played for a National Championship in that season. In total, the program record for one-goal games happened in 2013, when the team tallied 10. The nine one-goal decisions this season sit alone for the second most all-time at SU.
ORANGE LEAD THE NATION IN ONE-GOAL GAMES
-Â Syracuse leads the country with nine one-goal games and sports a 8-1 record in such contests.
-Â As of April 23, 105 Division I games have been decided by one goal. Syracuse (8-1), Vermont (4-1), and Boston (4-1) are the only teams with only one loss that have played at least five such contests.
ACC REGULAR SEASON CHAMPS
- After knocking off North Carolina in overtime, the Orange completed its regular season conference play with a perfect 4-0 record, clinching the regular season conference title.
-Â Since joining the ACC for the 2014 season, the Orange is 10-7 against conference foes in regular season matchups and 15-8 overall, including ACC Tournament play.
-Â In each of the last two seasons, the Orange has finished 2-2 in regular season conference play before going on to win the ACC Tournament title.
-Â The Orange has won eight conference titles in the eight seasons, including four regular season titles (2010, 2011, 2013, 2017) and four conference tournament titles (2012, 2013, 2015, 2016).
ALL-ACC HONOREES
- Capping off Syracuse's regular season conference success, four members of the Orange earned All-ACC recognition: defender Scott Firman, midfielders Sergio Salcido and Nick Mariano, and face-off specialist Ben Williams.
- It is the second time that Salcido, Mariano, and Williams have received the honor. Salcido and Mariano were named All-ACC last season, while Williams earned the recognition in 2015.
ORANGE IN THE ACC TOURNAMENT
-Â Syracuse enters its fourth ACC Tournament, having reached the tle game in its first-three appearances, including back-to-back ACC titles.
- This will be the third-straight season 'Cuse and Carolina meet in the ACC Semifinals, with Syracuse having beaten the Tar Heels twice in consecutive ACC semis before besting Duke in the last-two title games.

... Improve SU's record to 48-14 since the start of the 2014 season.

... Advance Syracuse to its fourth ACC championship in four years since joining the conference.
... Be the fifth straight victory against the Tar Heels, the largest streak in the matchup's history.
WILLIAMS BREAKS THE RECORD
-Â After winning eight faceoffs against Binghamton last weekend, Ben Williams now holds the record for most faceoff victories in Syracuse program history, having won 626 in his three seasons with the Orange.
-Â Williams passed Chris Cercy (622) to claim the top spot in the record books.
-Â Williams is 138-250 (.552) on the season, including 59-98 (.602) over his last four games.
THE PHANTOM
-Â In all Syracuse's 12 games this season, defender Scott Firman has seen one of the opposing team's primary offensive weapons.
-Â Attackmen that Firman has face average 3.66 points per game this season.
-Â However, facing Firman, these attackmen average 2.58 points per game.
-Â They average 3.76 points per game in games in which they haven't seen Firman.
WHEN #1
-Â The Syracuse men's lacrosse team has been ranked atop the USILA Poll 99 mes, nearly 22-percent of the me in the poll's history.
-Â Syracuse has been No. 1 in 99 polls since 1973.
-Â The Orange is 119-23 (.838) in games when holding the nation's top ranking, including a 52-11 (.825) record under head coach John Desko.
-Â Since the 2013-14 season, Syracuse's men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse, men's cross country, men's soccer and eld hockey teams have all spent me as No. 1 in their respective polls.
MARIANO STREAKING
-Â Nick Mariano's 12-game goal streak currently ranks 10th in the country in longest goal streaks, tied with Bryce Wasserman of Monmouth.
-Â Of the 12 players with a streak of 12 games or more, Mariano's goals per game for the season (2.55) rank seventh.
-Â The nation's longest goal scoring streak belongs to Dylan Molloy of Brown, who has scored in 37 consecutive contests.
DESKO CLOSING IN ON 500 SU WINS
- A win on Saturday would be head coach John Desko's 499th win as a member of the Syracuse lacrosse program, including his me as a player and assistant coach.
- In four years as a player, Desko played in 35 wins. He won 229 games in 19 years as an assistant coach under Roy Simmons Jr. and currently has 234 wins in his 19th year as head coach.
- Desko has the third-most wins as an Orange head coach, behind Roy Simmons Jr. (290) and Roy Simmons Sr. (253).
MASTERS OF THE MAN-UP
-Â Syracuse currently ranks second in the nation in man-up offense (.545), thanks in part to a 5-for-5 game against Hobart in extra-man opportunities.
-Â Nick Mariano led the way with three man-up goals against Hobart, and currently sits 21st nationally with five man-up scores on the season.
SALCIDO SEEKS PROGRAM RECORD
-Â Sergio Salcido's 28 assists this season rank fifth all-time in Syracuse program history for assists by a midfielder.
-Â Averaging 2.33 assists per game, Salcido will need six more games at his season average to break the record.
