2004: Team captain ... started every game for the third consecutive season … posted a 15-2 mark on the season … owned a 10.62 goals against average and a .559 save percentage … had 213 total saves … recorded double-digit saves in 12 outings … named to the NCAA All-Tournament team … tied his career-high mark of 19 saves in a game against Georgetown in the NCAA quarterfinals … posted 15 saves against Navy in the championship game … recorded his ninth NCAA tournament win against Navy which tied him for the school record.
2003: Started every game for the second consecutive season...posted a 10.48 goals against average and a .542 save percentage...recorded a total of 188 saves...had 14 saves in the 15-5 NCAA quarterfinal win against Princeton...the five goals scored by the Tigers marked the fewest Pfeifer or the SU defense allowed all season...totalled 108 saves in SU's last eight games of the year(13.5 saves per game)...named the Warrior/Inside Lacrosse Division I Player of the Week on May 5, after he recorded a season-high 18 saves (one short of his career-high) in a come-from-behind victory at Georgetown...Syracuse beat the Hoyas, 12-10, and secured itself a spot in the 2003 NCAA Tournament...in the NCAA first round game against Dartmouth, Pfeifer came up with key saves when needed...he finished with 12 against the Big Green...reached a milestone in the UMass game when he recorded his 300th career save.
2002: Named to the NCAA All-Tournament Team after totaling 46 saves in three playoff games…had a career-high 19 saves against Virginia in the double-overtime NCAA semifinal win…played and started all 17 games...was the first first-year player to start in goal since 1987…finished his first collegiate season with a 9.42 goals against average and a .540 save percentage…finished 30th in the nation in goals against average.
2001: Redshirt season.
High School: Played four years of lacrosse for Coach Dave Allan at the Gilman School...also played four years of football as a quarterback and a wide receiver...his lacrosse team posted a record of 16-1 his senior year...also participated on the basketball and squash teams...earned the Smith Cup.
Personal: Born July 16, 1981 in Baltimore, Md. ...parents are Jerry and Mary Pat Pfeifer...has one brother and one sister...his father was a three-time All-American attackman at Johns Hopkins, who later went on to serve as an assistant coach with the Blue Jays...majored in consumer studies.
