7/14/2025 12:29:00 PM | Men's Lacrosse
CHICAGO – The second half of the 2025 Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) season kicked off this weekend in Chicago as a healthy dose of former Orange helped their teams jumpstart the back half of the year.
Four games were held over the weekend at Northwestern Medicine Field at Martin Stadium for Throwback Weekend as the teams pulled on retro-style jerseys, an annual tradition for the PLL.
The New York Atlas took down the Boston Cannons 17-11 to start the weekend before the Utah Archers fell 16-11 against the Philadelphia Waterdogs. Saturday opened with a de facto Syracuse game as the Carolina Chaos took down the California Redwoods 12-10. The Denver Outlaws capped the weekend by doubling up the Maryland Whipsnakes 13-6 Saturday night.
The PLL returns to the northeast this weekend for Indigenous Heritage Weekend, hosted at Fairfield University's Rafferty Stadium in Fairfield, Connecticut. Another Orange-heavy game opens the weekend as the New York Atlas take on the California Redwoods Friday night on ESPN2 at 6:30 p.m. followed by the Utah Archers and the Carolina Chaos at 9 p.m. Saturday leads off with the Boston Cannons against the Denver Outlaws at 3 p.m. on ABC with the Maryland Whipsnakes and Philadelphia Waterdogs closing the weekend with an 8 p.m. start. All four games will be carried on ESPN+ as well.
Below are capsules of the weekend that was for each Syracuse connection.
