Sean Avant, a former wide receiver at Syracuse, returned to his alma mater in Oct. 2021 to serve as an academic coordinator with the football program.
He is entering his third season of his current role, overseeing the the initial and continuing eligibility of football student-athletes.
After graduating from ‘Cuse, Avant was an academic support intern with the Miami football program for 18 months. He then spent the 2019-20 academic year at Toledo.
Avant holds a bachelor’s degree in communication and rhetorical studies with a minor in child and family studies, and a master’s degree in instructional design, development, and evaluation, which he earned from Syracuse University in 2016 and 2017, respectively. During his time at Syracuse, Avant was a three-time ACC Honor Roll member and qualified for the SU Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for five consecutive semesters.
After graduating from Syracuse, Avant was an Academic Support Intern for 18 months with the University of Miami football program. He then spent the 2019-20 academic year as an Assistant Academic Coordinator Intern at the University of Toledo.
