Michael Ghobrial

A 2010 graduate of UCLA, Michael Ghobrial works with the Orange defense as a graduate assistant. He joined the Syracuse staff in February 2014 after spending five years on the staff at his alma mater. In 2009, Ghobrial served as an assistant to the recruiting coordinator as a volunteer intern. He transitioned to a quality control position, assisting with the defensive line, and became a graduate assistant in 2012 and was an assistant coach for special teams and the defensive line.
In 2012, four Bruins defensive linemen earned All-Pac 12 Honorable Mention recognition and the defensive line ranked eighth nationally in sacks and 22nd in tackles for loss, while the special teams unit ranked first nationally in blocked kicks and 14th in net punting. IN 2013, UCLA's special teams ranked ninth nationally in kick return yards and 17th in kick return defense.
Ghobrial mentored NFL draft selections Datone Jones (Green Bay Packers 2013 first round selection) and Cassius Marsh (Seattle Seahawks 2014 fourth round selection).
Ghobrial was a defensive lineman and special teams contributor at UCLA in 2006 and 2007. He earned his undergraduate degree in history and his Master's degree in education from UCLA.
