New York native Jason Rebrovich joined the Orange staff in June 2011 working in quality control after serving as the defensive coordinator at Cortland State University for three seasons. He worked with the Orange defensive line for two seasons before leaving Syracuse at the end of the 2012 season.
At Cortland, in addition to his duties as defensive coordinator, he worked with the Red Dragons’ defensive line and directed the special teams units. He was also the head of the strength and conditioning program.
Prior to returning to New York, Rebrovich coached the defensive line at Ferris State University (Mich.) from 2005-07 and at Concord University (W. Va.) in 2004. At Ferris he also served as the departmental head strength and conditioning coach and was the head strength and conditioning coach at Concord.
A 2000 Cortland graduate, Rebrovich began his coaching career at his alma mater. He was the team’s defensive line coach and strength coach from 2001-03 and assisted with the team’s defensive linemen in 2000.
Rebrovich played two seasons at Cortland as a defensive lineman. He recorded 40 tackles, including a team-high 14 for losses, and had a team-best 28 quarterback hurries despite playing just eight games in 1999. He made 23 tackles in 10 games, one as a starter, in 1998.
Rebrovich earned his bachelor’s degree in sport management at Cortland and is pursuing a master’s degree in educational administration from Ferris State. He also received an associate degree in business administration in 1998 from Alfred State College and played two seasons there before coming to Cortland. He was a team captain at Alfred State and earned the team’s Most Improved Award in 1997.
Rebrovich is a 1996 alumnus of Clarence High School, where he lettered in football, baseball and track and field. He and his wife, Trisha, reside in Auburn, N.Y.
