Program Accomplishments

Syracuse has earned the AFCA Academic Achievement Honorable Mention award in 2009, 2011, 2012, 2014 and 2015.

During Brotzki’s tenure, 14 Orange student-athletes have been honored by the National Football Foundation Hampshire Society.

In 2014, Sam Rodgers was named a Capital One Second Team Academic All-American. Rodgers was also a semifinalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy (nation’s top football scholar-athlete) and was selected to the AFCA Good Works Team.

In 2011, Syracuse had a school-record and league-leading 28 student-athletes named to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team.

In 2010, Syracuse won the BIG EAST Conference Academic Excellence Award.

Since 2009, Syracuse has had 98 conference all-academic team selections.

Playing Accomplishments

Started 45 consecutive games for Syracuse at tight end and left tackle.

Played center, guard, tackle, and tight end with the Indianapolis Colts, Dallas Cowboys, and Atlanta Falcons during a four-year NFL career.
