Spent the 2007 and 2009 seasons at Onondaga Community College before coming to Syracuse.
Senior Year (2011): USILA Third Team All-American … All-BIG EAST First Team selection for the second straight season … Started all 17 games … One of eight players to start every game … SU’s top scoring midfielder with 30 points (18g, 12a) … Averaged 1.76 points per contest and recorded at least one point in 15 of the team’s 17 games … Also served as SU’s primary faceoff specialist and led the Orange in faceoff wins (61) and attempts (123) … Second on the team with a .496 faceoff winning percentage (min. 5 attempts) … Collected 37 ground balls … Scored one goal, picked up five ground balls and turned in a career-best 11-for-14 (.786) showing at the faceoff X versus Denver … Scored one goal and tied his career high with two assists in wins against Virginia, and Georgetown at the Konica Minolta Face-Off Classic … His goal against the Cavaliers proved to be the game-winner … Also won 5-of-10 (.500) faceoffs and had three ground balls in the contest … Recorded a season-best four points, including tying his career high with two assists, and his season high with two goals versus Albany … Matched his personal best with 11 faceoff wins in 15 attempts (.733) against the Great Danes and had five ground balls … Thompson also posted two-goal games against Army, Hobart, Notre Dame and Maryland (NCAA) … Added an assist against Hobart to finish with three points (2g, 1a) in that contest … At Princeton, totaled two points (1g, 1a) and tied his personal career high with six ground balls … Recorded one assist and three faceoff victories in a 5-4 double-overtime win against Johns Hopkins … His faceoff win at the start of the second OT against the Blue Jays set the stage for Stephen Keogh’s game-winner.

Started all 15 games as a member of SU's first midfield … Scored 23 points (15g, 8a) … Also won 78-of-134 (.582) faceoffs and was third on the team with 46 ground balls … Led the BIG EAST in faceoff winning percentage … Tied for the conference lead with three game-winning goals … Eight multi-point games … Won a season-best seven faceoffs in seven games … Tallied one goal, one assist and seven faceoff wins in his Orange debut versus Denver … Against Georgetown, totaled three points, including a career-best two assists, and seven faceoff wins … Also had a career-high six ground balls against the Hoyas … Established career highs in points (5), goals (3) and matched his personal bests with two assists and seven faceoff wins against Villanova … Recorded two goals at Virginia and Johns Hopkins.
International Experience - 2010: Member of the Iroquois National Team scheduled to compete at the Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) World Championship, but didn't due to a passport dispute … 2006: Competed for the Iroquois Nationals at the International Lacrosse Federation (ILF) World Championship and helped the team to a fourth-place finish.
Junior College (2007 & 2009): Helped Onondaga Community College (OCC) to two NJCAA national championships, two Mid-State Conference titles and two Region III championships … The Lazers were 31-0 in his two seasons … Two-time All-Region III and NJCAA All-American … Scored 20 goals and had 28 assists for the undefeated (16-0) Lazers in 2009 and had 42 goals and 26 assists to help lead the Lazers to a 15-0 record in 2007 … Part of an OCC offense that scored at least 20 goals 13 times, surpassed 30 goals in a game four times in 2007 and defeated Suffolk Community College, 30-6, in the NJCAA title game … Scored three goals in OCC’s win against Nassau Community College in the 2009 national championship tilt.
