
Eight Orange Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

Eight Syracuse University student-athletes were announced on the 2024-25 CSC Academic All-District Men's and Women's At-Large Teams. College Sports Communicators (CSC) released its annual All-District At-Large Teams Tuesday afternoon.
Six student-athletes from women's teams earned Academic All-District honors: Tatum White (Women's Ice Hockey), Allie Kelley (Women's Ice Hockey), Berber Bakermans (Field Hockey), Charlotte Ebel (Women's Rowing), Emma Muchnick (Women's Lacrosse), and Emma Ward (Women's Lacrosse).
Two men's lacrosse student-athletes earned Academic All-District plaudits: Jordan Beck and Riley Figueiras.Â
Of the eight student-athletes, seven were selected as CSC Academic All-America finalists: White, Kelley, Bakermans, Ebel, Muchnick, Ward, and Figueiras. They advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC Members.
A co-captain for the women's ice hockey team, White was also a nominee for the Syracuse athletic department's Solday Award. She played in all 38 games as a graduate student, scoring 19 points on seven goals and 12 assists while working towards a master's degree in Conflict and Collaboration. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Syracuse in Chemistry (Medicinal).
Another co-captain for women's ice hockey, Kelley played in 37 games in net for the Orange this season, setting the NCAA Ice Hockey career saves record along the way with a combined 4,594 saves, with 2,371 coming at Syracuse, a program record. An All-Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) Second Teamer, Kelly was in the Exercise Science master's program at Syracuse and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree at St. Anselm College in Natural Sciences.
A National Field Hockey Coaches' Association (NFHCA) All-American this year, Bakermans played in all 20 games as a midfielder for the field hockey team. She made 19 starts and picked up nine points with one goal and a team second-best seven assists. Bakermans completed her master's degree in Applied Data Science.
Sitting third seat in the second varsity eight that helped beat No. 9 Michigan, No. 11 Penn, and No. 14 Ohio State, Ebel helped lead the women's rowing team to a 12th-place finish at the 2025 NCAA Women's Rowing Championship as well as third seat in the second varsity eight that took bronze in the grand final at the ACC Championship. Ebel triple majored in Public Relations, German Language, Literature & Culture, as well as Women's and Gender Studies.
Muchnick completed her second season with the Orange, playing in all 19 games while making 18 starts. She scored a team third-best 41 points on 34 goals with seven assists, converting on 47.9 percent of her total shots and scoring six times on the power play with another 27 ground balls to her credit. Muchnick is working towards a degree in Sport Management.
A staple on the Tewaaraton lists every year, Ward led the Syracuse offense with 76 points in her final year of eligibility, scoring 30 goals with a team-high 46 assists. She was credited with one game-winning goal and three free-position goals. Ward canned 39.0 percent of her shots this spring while completing her master's program in Firearm and Toolmark Examination
One of the top cover defenders in the country, Figueiras started in all 19 games at close defense for the men's lacrosse program, which reached Championship Weekend for the first time in over a decade. Figueiras quietly caused 27 turnovers this season while nabbing 31 ground balls and serving just five minutes for infractions. Figueiras is working towards his degree in Health and Exercise Science.
A nominee for the Elite 90 honor at Championship Weekend, Beck carries one of the best grade point averages in the country. He appeared in all 19 games as a reserve defenseman, specifically on the man-down unit. He picked up an assist in the home game against No. 20 Colgate while causing two turnovers on the year and generating one ground ball. Beck is nearing completion of a degree in Finance and Economics.
To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District nomination, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore both academically and athletically, undergraduate candidates must carry at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, and graduate student candidates must have a 3.50 GPA both as an undergraduate and as a graduate student after completing her degree in Psychology at Syracuse.
For the athletic component, CSC has sport-specific nomination criteria
Women's Rowing
Eligible nominees must compete in four competitions OR compete as a member of an NCAA boat (1V8, 2V8, 1V4) at a conference championship.
Field Hockey
Eligible nominees must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games played OR must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games.Â
Women's Ice Hockey
Eligible nominees must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games played OR must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games. For goalies, a student-athlete must have started at least 50 percent of an institution's games.Â

Eligible nominees must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games played OR must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games.
