HOW IT HAPPENED
Sophie Burrows kicked off scoring for the Orange, giving 'Cuse an early lead a minute into the contest. SU followed a Pitt layup with a 7-0 run to take a seven-point lead almost halfway through the frame, a lead Syracuse never relinquished. 'Cuse led by as much as 20 points in the first half, taking a 38-29 advantage into the halftime break.
A tightly contested third quarter was followed by a dominant fourth frame for the Orange, as SU posted 29 points in the final 10 minutes of action. Syracuse used an 8-0 run by Burrows and Georgia Woolley halfway through the final quarter to gain a double-figure lead, leading to an 18-point victory against the Panthers, 83-65.
YOU CAN BET ON BURROWS
Playing in her 28th consecutive game as a starter, sophomore Sophie Burrows secured her 12th double-figure outing in the last 15 games with her 21 points. Burrows shot 8-of-13 from the field, drained three from beyond the arc, and knocked down both of her free-throws. 14 points of her tally tonight came in the second half, including 12 points in the fourth quarter alone.
WOOLLEY FINDS A WAY
Georgia Woolley set a season-high tonight with 25 points on 50% shooting from the field (8-of-16 FG). Woolley went 7-of-8 from the charity stripe, while also sharing the team lead in assists with nine. The senior from Brisbane, Australia, grabbed five boards and swiped two steals to round out her night. Woolley has scored double-figures in every game played in 2025 this season, dating back to Jan. 2 against Georgia Tech.
