
'Cuse Drops Last Road Game to No. 11 Duke, 80-49

The Syracuse women's basketball team (10-17, 4-12 ACC) lost its final road test of the season to No. 11 Duke (21-7, 12-4 ACC), 80-49, inside Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham, NC, on Sunday afternoon. Syracuse returns home to host Pittsburgh at 7 p.m. on ACCNX. Tickets for Thursday's game are available here.Â

SU was paced in scoring by Georgia Woolley with 14 points. Sophie Burrows also scored in double figures, adding 13 points to a team-best eight rebounds, five of which were offensive. Burrows also led the Orange in assists, dishing out three during the contest.

Duke had four players score in double-digits, led by Toby Fournier with 16 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Georgia Woolley had six of the Orange's 13 points in the opening quarter, including scoring the first two baskets of the game. Duke kicked off a 9-0 run with six minutes to go in the opening frame to take the lead for the first time; a lead they held for the rest of the contest. The Blue Devils outscored the Orange 21-6 in the second quarter to take a 41-19 advantage at the break. Duke extended their lead to 25 points entering the final frame, before earning their fifth consecutive victory over the Orange, 80-49.
