Orange Dominate in Second Day of ITA Regionals

The Syracuse women's tennis team collected five wins in the second day of the ITA New England Regional Tournament.
In the main singles draw, Serafima Shastova, Constance Levivier and Anastasia Sysoeva are moving on to the Round of 128. In the doubles bracket, duo Nelly Knezova and Sysoeva and pair Shastova and Monika Wojcik, defeated their opponents to move on to the Round of 32.
The Singles Bracket
Shastova played a strong singles match, defeating Binghamton's Loren Cuomo 6-0, 6-2. Levivier challenged Valentinna Ferrarini of New Haven, earning the 6-0, 6-3 victory. Sysoeva and Boston's Blanka DeMicheli took the court, with Sysoeva coming out on top 6-0, 6-1.Â
Monika Wojcik put up a fight, but dropped her match 6-4, 6-0 to Connecticut's Ella Platenikova. Haram Kim battled out three sets against Hannah Shen from Brown, but ultimately fell 2-6, 6-1, 6-4.
Double Duos
Knezkova and Sysoeva paired together to defeat Michelle Ryndin and Victoria Zhao from Cornell 8-2. Shastova and Wojcik grabbed the 8-2 win on their court against Marist's Vihana Shresta and Yasmin Anis.
Duo Levivier and Kim kept up with Connecticut's Emma Baker and Dylar Gelber, but ultimately fell 8-5.
