A four-time All-American and this year's ACC Champion in the 60-meter hurdles, Jaheem Hayles can add another USTFCCCA Northeast Region Performer of the Year to his growing list of accolades.
It's the second year in a row that Hayles has won the award for the indoor season. An Orange runner has now won the men's award in three of the past-four indoor seasons and five times in the last eight years (JP Trojan – 2021, Justyn Knight – 2017 & 2018). Jarret Eaton also won the honor in 2010 and 2012.
Â
Hayles won his first ACC Championship this year in a season-best time of 7.65 seconds at the conference meet. He then qualified for his fourth-straight NCAA final (including outdoors) at last week's NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships. He finished sixth at the meet, claiming his third-straight First Team All-America honor and fourth-straight All-America finish in the process, including his second team award from the 2022 outdoor season.
Hayles looks to earn his fifth All-America honor at this year's outdoor championships, which would move him into a tie for the second-most total All-America honors in program history with Freddie Crittenden. Justyn Knight (eight) has the program record.
