THE DUKE SERIES
- The Orange and the Blue Devils face off Saturday for the 17th time, with the Orange entering the game holding a 10-6 advantage in the series.-
- Syracuse and Duke split two games against each other last season. The Blue Devils took the regular season match-up, in overtime, while the Orange enacted its revenge in the ACC Championship.
- In the first battle of 2016, Syracuse held a 14-10 lead heading into the final period, but surrendered five of regulation's last six goals, allowing Duke to force overtime. The Blue Devils won in overtime, 16-15.
- The Orange evened the season series in the ACC Championship game. A close match until the fourth quarter, Syracuse outscored Duke 6-1 in the final period to win 14-8 and hoist the ACC Trophy for the second straight year.
- Sergio Salcido recorded a career-high six points in both games against Duke last season. Salcido had four goals and two assists in the loss and two goals and four assists in the victory.
CARDIAC 'CUSE
- Syracuse enters Saturday's game having played five-straight one goal games, tied with a five-game stretch in 2013 for the longest streak in the 101-year history of the program.
- 'Cuse has recorded four-straight one-goal games in 2017, 2013, 2008, 2002 and 1919. Prior to this season, the last-three times Syracuse has recorded four-or-more one goal games, they played for a National Championship  in that season.
ORANGE LEAD THE NATION IN ONE-GOAL GAMES
- Syracuse leads the country with five one-goal games and sports a 4-1 record in such contests. The only other team with that many games decided by one goal is Virginia, who is 3-2 in such matchups. Three teams (Fairfield, Monmouth and Wagner) have played in four one-goal matchups this season, with each boasting a 2-2 record in those contests. Eight different teams have played in three one-goal games.
- As of March 23, 53 Division I games have been decided by one goal, Syracuse (4-1), Virginia (3-2), Notre Dame (2-1) and Bucknell (2-1) are the only teams with marks above .500 that have played at least three such contests.Â
COMEBACK KIDS
- The Orange has erased deficits of at least four goals on three separate occasions this year, including twice in games ending in victory.
- The  early-season comeback vs. Albany was the first time since 2013 that the Orange trailed by five or more goals and came back to win. Trailing 6-1 early in the second quarter, Syracuse held Albany scoreless for 30:38, going on a six-goal run to come back and eventually win the game 10-9.
- Against Army West Point, the Orange fell behind 8-4 late in the first half. The team eventually tied the game at 12, but would fall short to the Black Knights with just one second on the clock.
- In the ACC-opener, Virginia held a 10-5 lead over Syracuse with 11:06 to go in the third. Scoring nine of the game's final 12 goals, the Orange came back to win another dramatic finish, as Sergio Salcido netted the game winner with just 15 seconds to play.
POLL POINTS
- Syracuse enters the weekend having jumped to No. 5 in the Nike/USILA Coaches poll and stayed at No. 6 in the Lacrosse Maverik Media poll.
- Syracuse has appeared in 59 consecutive USILA polls. The last time the Orange were not ranked was April 30, 2012.
- Overall, Syracuse has been ranked in 199 of the 202 USILA polls that have been released since 2000 and 417 of the 446 polls since the USILA began its national rankings in 1973.
- The Orange appeared in 272 straight USILA polls from April 10, 1978 to April 30, 2007.
TEN BELOW
- Syracuse has won 45-straight games when holding opponents to under 10 goals in a game.
- In 2016, the Orange held 11 opponents under that mark.
- This season, Syracuse has held Siena (6), Albany (9), St. John's (9) and Johns Hopkins (7) under that mark.
- The last time Syracuse failed to win when keeping its foe to single digits was on April 28, 2012, when the Orange fell at Notre Dame, 8-6.
A WIN AGAINST DUKE WOULD …
… Be the program's 888th victory, second all-time behind Johns Hopkins.
… Improve SU's record to 42-14 since the start of the 2014 season.
… Give John Desko his 229th career coaching win, sixth among active Division I coaches.
… Extend Syracuse's current winning streak to four straight.
DOME-INATION
- Syracuse is 229-34 (.871) in the Carrier Dome since it began playing the majority of its home games there in 1981, including 3-1 this year.
- The Orange finished 9-0 at the Dome in 2015, the 16th time since 1981 (the lacrosse team's first year there) that SU was perfect at home.
- The Orange has won 26 of its last-29 home games.Â
MOLLOY COLLECTS HONORS
- Following his nine-save victory over Albany, Evan Molloy was named ACC Defensive Player of the Week.
- Molloy made six-straight saves during a 31-minute Great Danes scoreless streak where the Orange erased a five-goal deficit.
- Molloy earned his second ACC Defensive Player of the Week honor, as well as USILA National Defensive Player of the Week recognition, following the Orange's overtime win over Johns Hopkins.
- Molloy led the defensive unit that held Hopkins to a season-low seven goals, in large part due to a scoreless drought of over 20 minutes in the first half. The Orange goalie finished the game with seven saves and added a key assist as well.
