TODAY'S GAME
-Â Syracuse looks to extend its winning-streak to three on Saturday when the team travels to Baltimore, Md to face longtime rival Johns Hopkins, in a series that began in 1921, but has been played annually since 1983.
-Â The game will be broadcast on ESPN3, TK99/105 and WAER.
THE HOPKINS SERIES
-Â This will be the 56th meeting all-time between the two schools, to which the Blue Jays own a 29-25-1 advantage all-time.
-Â The last two matchups have gone down to the wire, with the Blue Jays taking down Syracuse in overtime last season at Homewood, and a late 'Cuse rally running out of time at Navy-MC Memorial Stadium in the 2015 NCAA Quarterfinal.
-Â In last year's match-up with Hopkins, the Orange jumped out to 4-0 and 5-1 leads before two-separate three goal runs in the second half gave the Blue Jays an 11-10 overtime win.
-Â Nick Mariano (three goals) and Sergio Salcido (two goals) led the scoring among the returners for SU. Matt Lane and Joe Gillis also scored in the game.
AGAINST THE B1G TEN
-Â Against the six-current members of the Big Ten lacrosse conference, Syracuse owns a 121-59-2 record all-time.
-Â In addition to Hopkins, 'Cuse has faced Penn State (46-11-1), Rutgers (41-8), Maryland (6-11) and Ohio State (2-0). The lone opponent the Orange has never faced is Michigan.
NON-CONFERENCE SUCCESS
-Â Syracuse is 3-1 in the non-conference slate so far this season and finished 8-3 last season against out of conference foes.
-Â Since joining the ACC, the Orange is 28-6 versus non-conference opponents, including a 26-3 mark in regular-season, non-league contests.
CARDIAC 'CUSE
-Â Syracuse enters Saturday's game having played four-straight one goal games, the second-longest streak in the 101-year history of the program.
-Â In 2013, Syracuse had five-straight one-goal games, which is the program record. In addition, 'Cuse has recorded four-straight one-goal games in 2017, 2013, 2008, 2002 and 1919. Prior to this season, the last-three mes Syracuse has recorded four-or-more one goal games, they played for a National Championship in that season.
- Head coach John Desko is 54-38 in one-goal games all-time.
