SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The SU men's soccer team (8-2-0, 1-0-0 BIG EAST) seeks to extend its winning streak to three games when it continues BIG EAST play on Saturday, Sept. 29 against Red Division rival Cincinnati (4-4-2, 1-0-0 BIG EAST). Game time is set for 7 p.m. at Gettler Stadium.

ORANGE SEEKING MILESTONE VICTORY
SU is looking to secure its ninth win of the season Saturday when it travels to Cincinnati. The nine victories would be the most in a season since 1999, when the Orange finished 11-9-0.

BONO RECOGNIZED BY COLLEGE SOCCER NEWS
Rookie goalie Alex Bono was listed as one of eleven true freshmen making an impact by College Soccer News. Bono has six shutouts this season, and ranks fourth in the BIG EAST with a 0.58 goals against average.

SCOUTING CINCINNATI
The Bearcats have a 4-4-2 record this season. Cincinnati has won three out of its last four matches, and is coming off a 0-0 draw with Cleveland State on Wednesday.

Cole DeNormandie and John Manga are tied for the team lead with three points apiece. Taylor Hafling has started every game in goal for the Bearcats. Hafling ranks first in the BIG EAST with 46 saves, and he's tied for third in the conference in shutouts (five).

Hylton Dayes is in his 11th season as head coach at Cincinnati. He's led the Bearcats to three NCAA Tournament appearances, while his 96 victories are second on UC's wins list.

THE CINCINNATI SERIES
Syracuse leads the overall series, 4-3-0. The Orange captured a 4-2 victory in the most recent pairing. The win marked head coach Ian McIntyre's first BIG EAST victory. The home team has won all seven series meetings.

RECAPPING THE UMASS GAME
The Orange traveled to Massachusetts on Sept. 25 for its final non-conference game of the year and posted a 2-0 victory.
Sophomore backs Jordan Murrell and Skylar Thomas each scored a goal, and Bono once again earned the shutout. Defensively, SU limited the Minutemen to four shots, none of which were on frame.

UP NEXT…
Syracuse returns home for a two-game conference homestand next week. The Orange will host Rutgers on Wednesday, Oct. 3 and Louisville on Saturday, Oct. 6.
