Julia Zalewski joined the Syracuse staff as Director of Nutrition in spring of 2025. She came to Central New York from the University of Tulsa where she served as the Director of Sports Nutrition since 2019.

Zalewski was responsible for all areas of the Golden Hurricanes’ nutrition program, including clinical, food service and education. Prior to her time in Tulsa, Zalewski spent one year as Director of Sports Nutrition at New Mexico State where she developed and implemented the sports nutrition program for 15 intercollegiate teams.

Previously, Zalewski spent one year as a Gatorade Fellow at Northwestern. She assisted with nutrition care for 19 Wildcat teams, focusing on football, women’s basketball, women’s soccer and baseball. She also completed a one-year postgraduate internship at Utah.

Zalewski earned bachelor’s degree in biology from St.Olaf College (2013) and nutrition from Minnesota (2015) before receiving her Master’s degree in nutrition and integrative physiology from Utah in 2017.
