Jamie Mullin, who has over 20 years of experience with the Syracuse Athletics Department, was promoted to Deputy Director of Athletics/Administration in August of 2023.
Mullin was hired as the Orange’s director of compliance in July 2003 and has served a number of roles during his Syracuse tenure. He became the associate director of athletics for team services in 2006 and worked as associate director of athletics for administration until 2013, when he was appointed to Sr. Associate Athletic Director until his current appointment in 2023.
Mullin oversees Syracuse’s newly-created Name, Image and Likeness office and subsequent revenue sharing initiatives. In September of 2024, Mullin began oversight of the Strategic Communications and Multimedia group, which encompasses Syracuse’s Athletic Communications, Creative Services, Digital Strategy and Athletic Productions units, which creates nearly all external-facing content, broadcasts and facilitates media interactions for all-20 varsity programs.Â
Mullin is the sport administrator for men’s lacrosse and field hockey programs and previously chaired the NCAA Field Hockey Committee and currently serves on the NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Committee. Both programs Mullin supervises have won at least one NCAA Championship during his tenure.Â
Beginning in November of 2022, Mullin began chairing weekly external meetings where various external-facing departments collaborate on department affairs.Â
Before coming to Syracuse, Mullin worked at Fresno State for two years. He was named Fresno State’s director of compliance in June 2001 and was promoted to assistant athletics director for compliance a year later. Mullin also previously worked in the compliance office at Central Michigan as an assistant from August 1999 through May 2001.Â
Mullin received his bachelor’s degree in history from Northern Michigan. He holds a master’s degree in sport administration from Central Michigan.
Jamie and his wife, Sara, reside in Jamesville with their sons, Tate and Quinn.
