Syracuse Softball has announced the hiring of Corey Hart, a veteran of 18 years as a professional hitting coach across three Major League organizations, as an assistant coach.
Hart brings extensive player-development experience to Syracuse, having worked with hitters at every level of the minor leagues — from Low-A through Triple-A — as well as with Major League rosters during his time with the Toronto Blue Jays, Miami Marlins, and Milwaukee Brewers organizations.
Most recently, Hart spent nine seasons (2016–2024) as a hitting coach in the Blue Jays organization, working with the Dunedin Blue Jays (Florida State League), the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons, and Toronto's Major League club, including stints with the big-league team in 2019 and 2020.
Before Toronto, Hart spent seven seasons (2009–2015) with the Miami Marlins organization, where he helped lead the Jacksonville Suns to a 2010 Southern League Championship. During that time, he also coached in the Arizona Fall League with the Surprise Saguaros — earning a Rising Stars Game selection — and with the Florida State League's Jupiter Hammerheads. Hart began his coaching career in 2006 with the Milwaukee Brewers organization, working with the Brevard County Manatees and West Virginia Power.
A standout player in his own right, Hart earned All-Big 12 Conference honors as a senior third baseman at Oklahoma, hitting .347 with 69 RBI. He was selected by the Kansas City Royals in the 23rd round of the 1998 amateur draft and went on to play professionally for the Spokane Indians, Charleston Alley Cats, Wilmington Blue Rocks, Wichita Wranglers, Omaha Royals, Nashville Sounds, and Bridgeport Bluefish, appearing in 714 minor league games over his playing career.
